The Cardinals of the Catholic church may have just had one of the most efficient conclaves in history, yesterday we had a nice meeting of our own in Utrecht. Thomas was coming from Brussels and looking forward to it too. fierce snowfall and failing Belgian/Dutch train connections kept him at home, but that didn’t keep him from popping up on Skype, it was much appreciated. Shame my sister lives across the channel, it would have been nice to have her there.
It was chaotic at times, but fun throughout. We started off thinking we may make some good decisions, but it became a brainstorm session and we went with it. It was good that we gathered and that everyone met each other. Anne and I got to tell everyone our main ideas and about what we think is absolutely necessary and what will be frowned upon.
It feels good to have a support team. People we trust that know the script on the day. People who can nudge the guests in the right direction if needed. And friends to glace at to check if everything is still okay. A safety net of sorts, wingmen, homeboys. August is still some time away, but it will get daunting when the days grows closer and it’s reassuring to know someone is a text message away.
